About Us

Baptist Church Planters is a church planting agency governed by a Council of 21 men.  Each Councilman must be a member of an independent Baptist church.  The Council has nine pastors (elected by supporting Baptist churches), eight church planters (chosen by fellow church planters), and four laymen (appointed by the Council).

Baptist Church Planters serves local churches, church planters and individuals interested in planting Baptist churches in North America.  We desire to see church planters who will serve in every major ethnic community.

Church planters can serve as Lead or Associate Church Planter, Apollos (semi-retired missionaries and pastors) and Tentmakers (layman and women who support themselves).  For those just entering church planting, especially men and women coming from college, we encourage them to participate in our Timothy Program, receiving training while serving with a veteran church planter.  Each church planter will receive extensive information before serving with Baptist Church Planters through our Candidate Class Seminar and will need to be approved by our Council.

We believe that church planting is the God-ordained mission for this age of grace and that fulfilling the Great Commission is best accomplished through the establishment of new churches.
