President Little’s Travels and Missionary Update
Sometimes plans get changed! We all experience interruptions. In April I was scheduled to speak at the Men’s Retreat of the Rocky Mountain Regular Baptist Fellowship, Colorado Springs, Colorado. It doesn’t snow there in April; well, most of the time it doesn’t. It sure did that weekend. Upon landing, I received a voice mail that the retreat was cancelled. Three foot of snow in the mountains at Estes Park! But, my time was not lost. A Baptist Church Planters’ donor named Bob came to the airport in his four by four and picked me up and I stayed the night with him and his dear wife, Susan. We had a very good time together and God used them to encourage me.
The next day was beautiful in Colorado Springs. I had made plans to visit the church planting site in Pueblo, Colorado. Bud and Eunice Johnson came out of retirement to give us needed help at Mountain Shadows Baptist Church. If you know Bud you know he is a godly man and willing to do whatever needs to be done for the work of the Lord. Unfortunately, he ended up in the hospital with major surgery while serving in Pueblo, so I visited with him and his wife at the hospital and enjoyed their company. Bud did a wonderful work as interim at the church. I spoke at the church the next day and encouraged them in the Lord. The new missionaries are arriving in June. Jim and Janice Mitchell resigned their church in Allegany, New York and have accepted the call to church planting. They are in need of your prayers and support.
Financially, we have mixed emotions. Our campaign for special projects is nearly halfway there, for which we thank the Lord, but our monthly giving is down. We went behind $10,000 this past month. We are beseeching the Lord for His provisions. Our trust is in the Lord. I reminded the staff of Asa in the Bible. He trusted the Lord with all his heart and God answered his prayers.
