Donald and Joyce Shade – Tentmakers

Don and Joyce Shade serve as Tentmakers at Crossroads Baptist Church in Tracy, CA.   Tentmakers are mature lay people who are financially self-supported and led of the Lord to aid missionaries and church plants. Don drives truck for Costco Wholesale, and Joyce teaches high school chemistry and physics, but they, with their boys Richie, Lee, Benny and John, are an integral part of the church planting team with missionaries Tim and Susan Heinrich. Don serves as the only deacon right now, teaches the adult Sunday school class and is the head usher.  He is also the church Treasurer, and Joyce is the Financial Secretary right now.  They both assist Tim [...]

Ulysses and Augustine Bestey – Kansas City, MO

Ulysses and Augustine Bestey have served as BCP church planters since 1997. They are faithfully proclaiming the Gospel and nurturing saints at Faith Fellowship Baptist Church. In May they had three baptisms—an eight-year-old girl and ten-year-old girl with her father. In June they had two baby dedications and two candidates for membership. Every first Saturday of the month Ulysses serves as volunteer chaplain at the City Union Mission, a homeless shelter, and he also serves voluntarily on the faculty at Carver Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary & Institute. Ulysses is working as the Assistant Director at Paseo Baptist Learning Center in Greater Kansas City,   Missouri, where Augustine also served [...]

Miguel and Ana Maria Quintana – missionary highlight

Miguel and Ana, both from Colombia, South America, faithfully served in ministry for over 20 years in several Latin American countries before coming to the United States. While planting a church in Waterloo, Iowa, Miguel and Ana realized they needed to partner with a mission agency, so in 2000 they attended Baptist Church Planters’ candidate school and became official missionaries. They faithfully built up the body of believers in Waterloo and are now presently serving at another church plant, Iglesia Bautista Hispana in Seminole, FL (meeting at Starkey Road Baptist Church.) This past year, the Quintanas rejoiced to see these blessings: 1) Their Hispanic group meets in a small church [...]

Rob and Beth Worthington – “a place of new beginnings”

God works in truly great ways!  We have seen His blessings on our family as we have grown from a family of six, to now having 4 grand children with one on the way!  We have one wedding coming up in October of this year with Sharon to her fiancé Chris.  They both serve in Iraq as civilian contractors and they both work with UAV’s.  Crystal our oldest is in Wyoming with her husband and two boys, Bobby is in Florida with his wife and son, and Cheryl with our only granddaughter is in PA.  Didn’t think I would ever be this old!  But grand kids are great!     [...]

Roy and Karen Kinney – looking forward to 2017!

We have seen God's hand of blessing in 2016 and look forward to what He has in store ahead. FAMILY BLESSINGS: Our family has grown!  Kaia-Ann Grace Hansen was officially adopted into our family in November and Leroy & Kiersten were married Thanksgiving weekend.  November was a full month of celebrating! Our family gatherings consist of 16 people with all of us plus spouses, grandkids, foster children, and foster grandchildren.  That is a full life of blessings as each one loves the Lord and serves in our local church. CHURCH BLESSINGS: We have what this second largest city in all of New England needs...the life saving Gospel to share with [...]

Meet Tim and Susan Heinrich in CA

John 14:1-3 says, “Let not your heart be troubled...In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” This Christmas, Crossroads Baptist Church in Tracy, CA, had a special program where each family brought a presentation of part of the Christmas story. There were readings, drama, music and multimedia presentations. As the program drew to a close, we began to see that God had orchestrated it all, [...]

Missionary Update – Hispanic Think Tank

Nearing the end–can God use you to help?

Adam and Elizabeth Zamora and Wayne and Shanna Dale in Buckeye, AZ By the grace of God they will see the completion of a permanent building for Desert Hills Baptist Church in the next two months! It has been a challenging construction, but God has overcome each issue, and He gets all the glory! Many of God’s people, individuals, churches, BCP and agencies, have been involved in bringing them to this point. There are several ways you can still help:  1) Please pray that they will be able to get a Certificate of Occupancy by mid-December. 2) Please pray that God will supply the budget deficit of $350,000.  3)  Please pray [...]

Missionary highlight – Blane and Kelly Barfknecht

Chalco Hills Baptist Church started in 2009 with less than 20 people in regular attendance. On August 21st we experienced our highest attended service that was not a special event with 52 people on a Sunday morning! Several new families have become a regular part of our ministry just over this summer. Please pray they would continue to attend and become plugged into ministry. One of the new families started coming after a young couple invited them to Vacation Bible School.  They had never been a part of a church before.  After meeting our people and hearing the teaching of the Bible, the husband began listening to our sermons online [...]

Missionary Highlight – Peter, Mary Lou Jenks and Fran Cupples

It is so exciting to follow God’s plan and see what he can do with an older couple whose peer group is all retiring. Two years ago Peter agreed to be the interim pastor at Victory Baptist Church in Fullerton, Nebraska and Grace Baptist Church in Genoa, Nebraska following the sudden death of their church planter, Roy Cupples.  After a year of filling the pulpit and searching for a pastor, it became evident that neither church was ready for that step.  God in His wisdom intervened and prompted us to say yes to Him and to the churches if they wanted Peter to come as their church planter. At Victory [...]
