On Sunday, May 17, 2015, over 300 people gathered for Dedication Day for Boardman Baptist Church in Youngstown, OH. It was a special day of celebration for the congregation as they have been praying for this day for a long time. Following the morning worship, the dedication service began with a Victory March of “those who have worked with their hands to make this building a reality” and ended with a catered “celebration meal.” The service included special music by soloists, the choir and the children of Boardman Baptist and a powerpoint presentation relating the story of the [...]
Three diverse churches in the Bay Area of San Francisco met for a joint worship service. “This was no simple task,” says Pastor Tim Heinrich of Crossroads Baptist Church. Meeting with Crossroads Baptist was a congregation that communicates through American Sign Language and one that speaks Spanish. All three churches—Crossroads Baptist Church, Deaf Baptist Church of Fremont, and La Roca Iglesia Biblica Bautista Independiente of Hayward—are church plants with Baptist Church Planters. Steve Little, president of BCP, posed the worship service idea when he attended a California Association of Regular Baptist Churches conference. The concept was three churches, three languages, and one purpose. On Sunday, April 12, 118 people from the [...]
In August of 2013, BCP officially included the ministry designation of Church Revitalization in our Mission Statement. Bible Baptist Church in New Milford, CT, came under BCP in need of revitalization. Serving there are Associate Church Planter Rob and Beth Worthington, and new appointees Tim and Marsha Weeks are helping there in the midst of deputation travels. The new name is Riverview Baptist Church, and the revitalization is progressing slowly toward being a growing and thriving light in the New Milford community. The church had three sections of its roof replaced by ChurchCare missionary builders in November 2013. The weekend of October 26, 2014, the church had their annual meeting to vote on [...]
Chip grew up on a 700 acre chicken farm just north of Syracuse, NY. He had the privilege of being raised in a Christian home, and his family was actively involved at Constantia Center Independent Baptist Church. At an early age, Chip knelt beside his bed, with his parents, and confessed his need for Jesus to save him from his sins. He was baptized as a teen and grew up serving with his church youth group. Any time that he was not working on the farm, Chip could be found singing in a school musical, chorus or quartet. Upon graduation from high school, he attended Baptist Bible College (1986-1991) where he studied Music and [...]
Brent and Michele Howard both grew up in Christian homes with a strong Godly influence from their families. God chose to bring them together to pass on that heritage to their 2 children, Ryanne (14) and Riley (12). God has gifted Brent in the building trade with abilities and experience in all phases of construction. Michele is a trained teacher and has taken on the responsibility of teaching their children at home. Since 2007, they have been full-time missionary builders with ChurchCare Construction, traveling and living full-time in a 5th wheel RV. The Lord has allowed them to assist about 17 churches over the past 7 years with various building [...]
Hispanic Retreat Scheduled for September For several years, Hispanic believers have enjoyed a weekend retreat at the Iowa Regular Baptist Camp in Ventura, Iowa. This year the retreat will be held on September 19-20. This retreat, with the three main sessions in Spanish and the sessions for the teens and children in English, spiritually challenges attendees through music, messages and fellowship one with another. Christian books and music are also available for purchase throughout the weekend. The camp facilities provide opportunities for physical refreshment through the use of paddle boats, the climbing wall, basketball, tennis, soccer, pontoon boat rides, a zip line, and train rides for children. This year our [...]
Church planting is a labor of love. In a Church plant with a majority of new believers, things move much more slowly, people develop less quickly, and the greatest challenge besides laborers is financing. God allowed Desert Hills Baptist Church to raise $230,000 towards the purchase of land and to close escrow in February. We are truly grateful for His provision. We currently are trying to raise monies to move forward with developing the land the Lord has provided. Building in the west is unique in that the costs associated are often higher than they would be in the Midwest or other places. We are looking at spending over $600,000 simply in site costs and permits. We are [...]
On March 18, 2014, Stephen P. Little accepted the call to the presidency of Baptist Church Planters. Steve has been a church planter and has planted three churches, one in Recife, Brazil, and two in New York State. The Littles have served with the mission since 1994, and Steve was a councilman for twelve years. He knows church planting and will be a great friend and support to church planters and to churches with a heart for church planting. Steve and Becky have five children and four grandchildren.
